Description

Putung Babi – Pandesal (Filipino bread), cut in half, hallowed out a bit, then filled with sauteed ground pork, with potatoes, and peas. A satisfying all-day comfort snack that everyone will sure enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 pieces large U.S. Fresh Potato, peeled and cubed
  • 4 whole pieces Pan de Sal
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and minced
  • ½ piece onion, chopped
  • 250 grams ground pork
  • 2 pieces calamansi juice
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • ¼ cup frozen green peas
  • ¼ cup raisins
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Preparation

  1. Slice the Pan de Sal in half.
  2. In a hot pan with oil, sauté the garlic and onions.
  3. Then add the ground pork. Pour the calamansi and soy sauce.
  4. Add the potatoes and mix all together. Add tomato paste and stir for another 5 minutes until meat and potatoes are done.
  5. Add green peas and raisins. Season with salt and black pepper.
  6. Set-aside.
  7. Spread 2 tablespoons of the mixture on the top of sliced Pan de Sal.
  8. Serve with ketchup.
